Get to Know Your Customers Day is observed annually on the third Thursday of each quarter. This is a day we reach out to our customers and get to know them a little better.
Today, we’re talking with Brian Dey, Purchasing and Customer Service Manager at Dey Distributing.
Can you tell us a bit about your company?
Dey Distributing is a family owned company established in 1944. It was originally founded by my grand parents, Adolph and Florence Dey. In the beginning they worked out of t heir home, but they soon moved to a small store downtown St. Paul, MN. We now have 15 locations in the Upper Mid-West of the US, and employ over 150 people.
Who are your customer, and in which type of industry do they use Dundas Jafine products?
Our main customers are appliance retailers and dealers. We supply them with the Dundas Jafine dryer venting product category.
Is there a specific project that you are particularly proud of? Can you tell us about it?
We are excited to bring more focus on the Dundas Jafine product line. With the help of their sales and marketing team we created a new product display program that features ad-on items in the dryer venting category. This new display will be installed in 3 stores of one of our major customers this year. If successful, we’re planning on progressively rolling out the program to our customer’s 10 stores.
Hockey or Football? Which team?
Having coached grade 8-9 hockey for 28 years, there is a special place in my heart for hockey. My team is the Minnesota Wild.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Summers are not very long in this part of the country and I make the most of it by spending quality time outdoors. I enjoy boating and gardening, and spending time with my family and friends.
